The Coming Disaffected

I received a note from an up-and-coming film producer working on a Witness film, and in the conversation I mentioned:

Freeminds.org site, I want to build a brand new hi-tech site that is friendly to smartphones and the younger disaffected "ex" JW crowd. We intend to welcome all who have been abused by the abusive Watchtower control techniques, whatever subculture they new are trying to identify with (if any). There will be several different forums to avoid group "fights. "-))

You can have a free blog to share with others. All connections with the media sites will be plugged in. And you can upload your own uncopyrighted home videos. At least it will be a halfway house, where young people can sort out who they really are, and see their future options (with some ethical rules where you can be voted off the site by the others) through new role models and the daily blogs of others on the site. The site will not be a religious site and is not designed for that. It is a hospital - you check in and you check out. (That's why I'm not going to run it - LOL).

The age group targeted will be probably 16 to 30 yrs old or more. It will not be g-rated, but there will be no big ethical challenges except those natural to our evolution of our species in our lives.

These are the ones who will be hit hardest with self-identity issues in the days ahead when the Watchtower begins to fragment due to their lack of foreknowledge and leadership skills. They are just too late. This is a 19th century carnival-style religion and by its nature will die. It holds no real attraction for anyone anymore - just empty promises. The bricks crumble as we speak, but the $billions in property will keep the old Governing Body guys secure, holed up in upstate New York.

In the meantime, a whole crop of "new anointed" will likely spring up in an effort to revive the ghost of the bombastic and apocalyptic Rutherford. One major world disaster would be all it would take to spark such a move (out of fear alone).

I think it's great. Looking forward to it. I totally agree, that is something that has been on my mind for a while now. "what if they just throw their hands up and pull up stake?" I have much family in, and whether it is a slow crumble or a fast fall, I worry a lot about those who are really tied in. I know I want to be part of a safety net.
