Maybe 100 plus years ago there was a secret group of carnal men but they just had to know what the bible means. The curiosity was killing them. We know they do not know it, so two troops have been formed against them. They who say the bible doesn't mean anything, and them who are not happy being tricked like that. Maybe even Russell had little to do with it all being the poster child for what the hell? Just maybe they are so secret, some of them are still believing somebody will make sense of it all. The best way to find out a secret is to tell a lie about it. Maybe it's an evil plan hatched by who?

There have always been those who "know what the Bible means"... just as surely as the ones who wrote it knew. Sure, tell them it's God-breathed and give them a book to worship. How ingenius!

In order for there to be a conspiracy, there would have to be people who know exactly what they're doing, while acting in concert in order to deceive the masses.

The Watchtower religion, in my worldview, was cooked up by some Jesuit in the "Village of the Holy Spirit" behind the Vatican. They probably gave Russell his instructions.

A bunch of aimless truth seekers are not bound to get so lucky as to devise billion-dollar a year mind control printing companies.

The people with the most money and the biggest cannons decided to proliferate the Bible upon the West and claimed that it was inspired, enforcing that claim by putting to death anyone who didn't believe it was.. That is the only reason anyone ever believed it was the "Word of God".
