As far as I know, in the USA, service year begins in September. I was wondering, is it the same as worldwide?

Yes, it's everywhere. It is a fiscal year thing that they teach you in a boring accounting class.

All the statistics are wrapped up for totals or averages of hours, baptized, etc all the countries, from Sept-Aug. Then, that is printed out in the Yearbook (now, use to be the Jan 1 WT). The statistics leak out sometimes about the very end of December or early January.

To JWs, that the service year starts in September doesn't matter as September is the same as August or any other month. Meetings and field service, the same old same old.

thats true. the only little effect it has is on regular pioneers since they have a yearly quota to reach. the ones who boosted it early in the service year tend to take it easier in august, perhaps taking some weekends off. those who slacked off earlier have to push for extra hours in August.
