In my time as an elder, we would have given the lad our confidence without further investigation.. What did they have? an accusation brought by a worldly person that was strongly denied by the Witness kid, and his mum was going to raise a complaint with the school. A classic he said v she said -
No more to say , no action required unless further information comes up.
Of course that was applying Christian love, that "believes all things"...Things seemed to have changed today. What if they could not verify his story and the girl stuck to her guns ? Would they have taken judicial action? that is the only alternative..
