In Geneve (Switzerland) JWs buy an ancient military museum and plan to turn it into a kingdom hall complex. See here (in French):

According to the article, the owner of the place went bankrupt and JWs stepped in to buy the place for 2,7 million Swiss Francs (2,8 million US dollars), which is 2 million francs (2,1 million US dollars) less than its actual value on real estate market.

The total expense for the project (purchasing and remodeling) will be 5,5 million Swiss Francs (5,7 million US dollars).

It would be cool if some historical preservation group made them preserve the historical qualities -millitary- of the architecture.

So much for not touching the "unclean thing", aye??????? Oh well, they bought and remodeled the Stanley Theater with it's art depictions of Greek Mythology in the lobby, so why not a military installation? Oh! Oh! And they own stock in Rand-McNally, so they couldn't care less.

God forbid you drop some money into the Salvation ARMY kettles though to help some poor homeless people eat though!!
