The difference is most Christian groups today have some latitude when it comes to personal decisions say....Blood transfusions. They may say "What would Jesus do" pray, then make a decision themselves. Witnesses are so Pharasee based that EVERYTHING has rules and regulations!! Before making a decision a Witness needs to check.....not the bible...or Jesus qoutes....but the Index Watchtower articles to see "What would the Governing body Do?" It's all about control. We speak for God and Jesus, you must obey US. I'm amazed how the so callled "anionted" forget that they are imperfect men and can't really say 100% these are Jehovahs thoughts.

I can't speak for the Witnesses, but if the Governing Body is the "faithful and discreet servant" mentioned in scripture, and if they in fact were feeding the followers of Jehovah "meat," then they would be the representatives of Jehovah in the last days. Thus, their words would be as valuable to us today as the words of the apostles were anciently. They would, in fact, be representatives of Jehovah.

The only problem is that there is no indication that they have been called of God. They assume it's true, and that in 1925, Jehovah came to the Earth and judged all of the religions thereon. After doing so, he decreed that the Jehovah's Witnesses were the truest to his words and doctrines. How he manifested that to the Governing Body, or to Joseph Rutherford, remains unclear. As far as I know, there was no revelation, no witnesses, only his word...and the Lord anciently had witnesses...credible people who could say they had seen and heard.

The biggest problem about manmade churches is that they're manmade. Only God can manifest his will and establish his church. So far, the Governing Board has not revealed how they know they're anointed and how they know they speak for God.

I disagree. I don't think the average witness knows squat about what the governing body does. It's about what the gb TELLS them to do.
