When I was a Methodist and became a JW ... I couldn't believe the vast contrast between the services. At the Methodist church, the live music and choir was professional and uplifting, the sermon was encouraging and interesting and the people were spiritually alive and real. My first experience at the Kingdom Hall, I was shocked at the recorded piano elevator music over the speakers, the monotone droning of the speakers giving the talks (some were better than others, but that was rare) and usually the same topic, but just worded differently. It was lifeless and dull. There was hardly any fellowship outside the Kingdom Hall. Maybe one group activity a year ... rent a community center and bring playing cards. Weee!
