    He Will Not Be Late

When I was a small boy, not wanting to go to school,
I waited for the school bus,
Hoping that it would not come that day.
But though at times it was late,
    Nevertheless it always came.
Now I sit and I wait for the grim reaper,
    that harverster of souls,
    and though he may tarry,
I well know that he shan't be late for me.

    Frenchy,

Your words made me think. They also made me feel sad. I hope you're not feeling sad, Frenchy.

    Oh Frenchy,
That is sooo beautiful. It is sad, but yet so realistic. It moves a person to think deeply, which is good.

I have written several more poems as of late but don't have any to put up here.
    Please continue to share yours.

Thank you for your kind replies. I am not nor have I ever been what I would call a happy person although all of my acquaintances and even most of my close friends would call me such. Writing about sadness helps to cope and to lead, at the very least a semblance of, a balanced and adjusted life.

I look forward to reading more of your work, Audrey.

    Frenchy.
