Blood IS sacred in the way that it represents life. But life is MORE sacred in that it is the reality. Eating blood was forbidden, mainly due to false religious worship and also to remind people that blood is sacred.
But life is sacred. However, many people, sadly, don't think ANYTHING is sacred anymore. Going back to the animals. Animals don't think anything is sacred either.
