At this year's convention, the last talk titled 'Stay in the secret place of the most high', dealt with the generation issue. The speaker said that a generation could be "any group of people living in the same period of time". He gave an example of Frederic Franz and CT Russell, saying they were of the same generation since F Franz was already alive when Russell died.
This would surely mean that "this generation" may never come to pass, ever.
Good thing you are not trying to give an applause worthy talk on this subject. You are trying to understand something that will simply change with the next need for tacking in the wind. At present what they are saying is that there will be not numerous overlaps as in someone that is alive before Franz died will be of the 1914 generation just the overlap with Russell. The reason no one seems to come up with the same understanding is because it is bullshit.
Does it mean that the overlap will not be repeated?
One thing that has to be made clear is that the WTS. proclaimed that those who witness the events starting in 1914,
this generation will see the coming of the end of this system of things and god's kingdom reestablished here on earth.
Well they know nothing has transpired within that generation and they have all pretty much died off now.
A reworking was needed to keep the old light ( bullshit ) or spiritual food as they call it recreated into something fresh and viable.
Whats interesting about the JWS/WTS is that they have in its entire history changed doctrines when previous laid down
doctrines proved to be untrue. The only thing they could up with this time is overlapping generations. The most damaging
aspect of this new meaning ( New Light ) is Jesus spoke the word generation not generation(s) .
Either 1914 was a fallacious doctrine to begin with which it was, a long with we are living in the end times,
the WTS. publishing kingdom is built up on nothing but proactive cunning bullshit.

I also think this proclamation is unusual for the WTS., kind a bit off the wall,
its like the hierarchy is running out of bullshit to feed people.
The WTS. is now being self described as being god's secret place.
The usual BS spiritual food must not be working any more.
The connection is of course if you stay within the secrete place (WTS.) you'll be saved
when Armageddon arrives.
