Is it true that in the 80s xjws and apostates protested out the front of meetings and caused disturbances in meetings (eg rushing the stage)?? I overheard an elder a while back mention this. Anyone got any stories??

I seem to remember hearing something like that. I think I remember other people talking about it. I think my mom told me once about someone who was defepd from her cong. was seen at another cong. with other apostates protesting with signs, wish I had some good stories for you but I was on drugs thru the 80's and didn't spend a lot of time at Kingdom Halls

I remember in the San Francisco area at the District Conventions, there would be "apostate" picketers who would hand out information about "The Truth". That was in the early 80's. We as elders were given instructions to be be on the "lookout" for them. It basically went away in the later 80's.

As a proud "apostate" myself, our group merely advertises its existence in on the opposite side of street where the District Conventions are held. However, we have no desire to disrupt their activities. After all, they are entitled to a quiet meeting. Also, if any wish to contact us, they have to actively come across the street to seek us out. We never confront other JWs.

I seem to remember an apostate rushing the stage and yelling something to the speaker at an assembly that I was attending when I was very young. It was definitly in the early 80's. He was promptly escorted out by some witnesses. I believe it was in West Palm Beach, Fl or Hollywood, Fl.
