You can not turn on the news this week, without hearing about the Florida church story of burning the Muslim Koran. Which, in my personal opinion, is exactly what they wanted. However, it does bring in to question, 'Why is it so wrong?' I have seen on more occasions then I can remember, the burning of American images, Bibles, etc. All of which, are meant to attack the western culture or world. These are covered in casual news stories, as acceptable!
So, what happens if the Muslim Koran is burned? We are told it will put troops in harms way, it will put American lives overseas in harms way, etc. Yet another fact is ignored, 'This is already happening!' Americans are already seen as a target of high attention, and worth the effort to find. Troops were put in these countries by our politians, first. So, will this burning really change that much?
Next, it always seems that we think the Muslim world is stumbling in to reasons to hate the Western world. When in reality, they are being manipulated in to it. Most of the middle east Muslim world is poor, uneducated and over-populated. Those few that they see as authority figures, enjoy the game and know that if they feed the hate, they feed their power over them. So, if it was not this story to find a reason to hate, there would be another and then another after that.
'Fear the uneducated, fear the ignorant, and you are won over by their years of experience.' I think it has to come to a point in this world, in which we will realize, TRUE PEACE will never come. No fake GOD, no real GOD and no SATAN or evil FORCE can ever bring all of mankind in line with one train of thought. To always be wishing for PEACE in a world in which it is not possible, is like 'wishing' in one hand and 'crapping' in another and not realizing which one will be full first.
Burn the books, if you want. Draw pictures of the Mohammed and put them around. In the end, we are lucky enough to live in a country that allows such freedome of speech. As much as you agree or disagree, you are right. For you can feel this way and hopefully you always will. Personally, I do not care and maybe I will light up several religious books on Sept 11th. Just to show all the more, that the element of FIRE is more powerful in the face of any religious book. Simple, overtakes, the complex.Only thing I would not do, though. Is go on the news and tell the world. Yet, thanks to being an American, 'I could annouce the BURN!'
