Perfect Imperfection by Sabastious
What if God created us to be imperfect? If there are any common themes in the universe they are death and imperfection.
God knows what it’s like to be “perfect.” If he never had a beginning nor and end then he transcends all that we call reality. Everything in our reality has a beginning and an end; he has neither.
Sun’s burn out, stars supernova and planets have no defense against comets that could crush them. Forrest fires ravage whole sections of the Earth’s surface. Ninety nine percent of all life is the history of the planet is lost to extinction. Virus pandemics can kill hundreds of millions of humans over a short time.
Yet, even with all of this potential destruction and devastation the dominant species of the planet continues to progress physically, technologically morally and spiritually. Why does this happen?
One explanation is that this is how prosperity comes to be. This is exactly the process in which existence works. One could call it the best way of existence, the way God made us: imperfect, flawed.
He is not flawed, he is perfect and it might be the very reason for our existence. Perfection is predictable and frankly boring, so God made us to balance the “perfect” world.
Just a thought process I have had ruminating for a few months now, wanted to get a baseline in writing.
