    That's old news...

    That theory has been floating around for at least 5 years... Scientific American had an article on it, several years ago...

    With the advances in DNA science, it may be overturned eventually... Unless it's related to the homo sapiens "die-off" some 40,000 years ago - maybe longer - related to a massive volcanic eruption...

    Homo Sapiens are considered to be only around 100,000 years old; of course, that depends on which group of anthropologists' results one is reading...

    3 things:

    1) The existence of mitochondrial Eve (ME) is a logical conclusion; as such it lend equal evidence to both creation and evolution.
    2) humans and dogs share a mitochondrial eve to; though she was properly quite hairy and not very hot.
    3) the age is interesting though.
