Does it cost you more in utilities? How much? Just estimate. Thanks!
Do you have climate controlled wine cellar?

I have a very small one by Haier I bought on clearance at Macy's. It only holds eight bottles but I do like it. It only cost me $30.00. I think it is too small for me to notice any change in my electric bill but I don't think any of them use much energy because they are only keeping the wine slightly cooler than room temperature. I would definately recommend you get one that holds more than eight bottles but for 30 bucks it was a cheap way of seeing if I find them useful which I do. I plan on getting a larger one someday but I'd still keep this one.
There must be somewhere online that could tell you how many kilowatts they use and you could figure the cost out by how much you pay per kw in your area.
Happy Wining!

No. I have a refrigerator. Every time I open the door it costs an extra 0.01 cents, something like that. Works well for beer too.

Dark Side
I keep everything in an ice chest. Refrigerators are for pussies
They require very little maintenence, too. When the bologna starts to smell, it's time to add ice

In the UK we have the fridge, and the freezer. The fridges are a lot smaller than yours. Our kitchens are about the size of your broom cupboard. Our freezers take a few packs of fish fingers and a tub of ice cream and thats about it. And you can't get ice out of it... we make that in a little tray in the freezer.... very quaint.

I've always found it strang Wupass that fridges aren't getting bigger in the UK. Ours have got bigger over the years.

I don't drink much so I don't need one. I can count on one hand the number of bottles of wine I go through in a year.

If I did ... and unfortunately, we at the Old Manor fell on hard times and had to convert our vast cellar into letting apartments ... this was after we had to let go of the household servants - terrible business ... if I did, no wine would rest in it long enough for it to be of any benefit. *Hic*
