    Blood -- Naturalness

Today I am confronted with a lunatic Watchtower apologist claiming that “unfractionated” blood components settle out naturally as plasma, red cells, white cells and platelets. Claims like this smack of such ignorance a person wonders if such people bother to crack open a book.

How many folks here think or have been led to believe that blood components naturally settle out as plasma, white cells, platelets and red cells?

Also, to anyone's knowledge, has Watchtower ever asserted such a stupid thing as the above? If so, where?

I don't think I've seen it in print, but I've definitely heard that in informal conversations. They say if blood is left "to sit", eventually the solid "bits" separate away from the plasma.

If it is in print, it would have to be something pretty old and definitely not on the WT-CD - maybe an Awake from the 40's or 50's?

"If blood is treated to prevent clotting and permitted to stand in a container, the red blood cells, which weigh more than the other components, will settle to the bottom; the plasma will stay on top; and the white blood cells and platelets will remain suspended between the plasma and the red blood cells. A centrifuge may be used to hasten this separation process" - http://www.bloodindex.org/blood_component.php

Wait, so gravity and an imaginary line determines which part of blood is ok?

If you leave two attractive horny teenagers of the opposite sex locked in a room, what naturally happens?

Now what bearing does that have on anything (nothing).

Of course, it is still BLOOD derived, and if you shook it all up, it would reconsititute.

    WTF.

If blood sits long enough, the cells should explode? Once they explode, they become 'holy' fractions. How's that for abstaining from blood and covering the blood with ground?

Logic and the Jehovah's Witness blood policy do not mix well.

Since red blood cells sink to the bottom, is the apologist saying that they are "more like" blood and "less like" water? Therefore, hemoglobin is more unholy then plasma particles?

Trying to understand JW logic on blood, is like arguing with a toddler on why you can't go to the park, "Right now". It's like taking a horse to water....

Is this individual claiming that plasma settles out too?
