Our Common Heritage

    For the most part, we have all come from the same place, a place that we have left. Some have become a member of a mainstream Protestant religion. Some have become atheists. Others, have taken different paths like RR who became a Bible Student, in the tradition and beliefs of Russell. I wish that we all can keep in mind our common heritage, and live with our diversity.

    I think we have a common goal or goals - to share experiences and help each other, and to help those who are suffering and in doubt. Our potential for good is very remarkable. I hope that we can realize that potential.

    We can talk about issues, experiences, and traumas that the outside world simply doesn't understand. We give each other a gift. The gift of understanding.

    One thing that has kinda bothered me since I've been posting on this board is how many really bright and intelligent people post here. And I think, "how could so many smart people been taken in by the WTS?" And also how much good these folks could have done for themselves, their families and society at large if they hadn't been duped by the society. For that I find the JW organization culpable and deserving of whatever shame they may eventually come to. I can hope anyway.

    In agreement with Larc;
    Yet the responsibility for having deceived so many and so many inteligent ones belongs to Lucifer and his helpers. He was to mislead the entire world and if possible even the Anointed!

    Fortunatly God didn't put all of His Anointed in one religion!
    Nor does He put all His eggs in one basket. *grins*

    What is even better Larc? That the kind of help most need is JUSTNESS and that is what the Anointed can deliver! With the gifts of the Spirit they CAN make a difference IF THEY ARE CONTACTED and asked to help! Does anyont really think God would say to follow His Anointed and then not have them there and ready to lead and help? Duh?

    Like another poster uses the quote;
    Contact the A-nointed team!

    Nice expression of love. Also, understand that all Christians, as such, have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. This is how they know they are saved.

    I was sucked into the WT because of my ignorance about Christianity, not because of my intelligence level. I loved, I trusted, I was mislead, but not now.

    I am a new creature in Christ. The old things of my past, lost life have passed away; and behold, God’s new Things have come into “my” life. (II Corinthians 5:17)
    Knowing and experiencing this new creature is a remarkable actuality. Being saved is a "sure know" thing--no guesswork here.
