The end will come when you stop waiting for it to come...

I remember when I was an undergrad at UT and I had to participate in an experiment as part of a psych class I was taking... We were given the Briggs-Meyer profile to get a bead on who we were and then after we took that we were sent individually to different rooms and were told "Wait here and then someone will come in to discuss the results of your Briggs-Meyer profile."

Outside the door, the research assistant was timing how long we'd wait before opening the door to find out what was taking so damn long....

    That was the experiment.

How long did you wait? What were the results of the experiment? I am taking Abnormal Psychology right now. Did anyone become phobic while waiting?

That's kind of what the Bible says, too. Jesus is claimed to have said that it will come at a time it is unexpected. So as long as people expect it, it isn't coming. Interestingly, he also said for his followers to keep in expectation of it. Perhaps in order to actually prevent it? It's kind of circular, isn't it.

I haven't taken the Meyers-Briggs since before I started learning the REAL truth. Just like my belief-o-matic has completely changed, I bet part of my Meyers-Briggs is changed, too. I was near the border with "N" & "S" and a fairly weak "J" but I wouldn't be surprised if I am now an INTP (with a stronger "N" and a "P" instead of "J") instead of the INTJ I was as a Dub.

If I was in the study you were in, I'd have been an outlier. I can sit and muse for hours. I may have even taken a nap.

I agree, Mad Sweeney. I said this to my Dad not long ago too. His reaction indicated that he'd never thought of that before.

And since there seems to exist at least one nut-ball group that is an 'End-Times Cult' throughout history, the conclusion is it ain't never comin'.

That would be cool if there was published data on how long the different personality types waited on average. Would be even cooler if there was data on how long JW's & Mormans waited at the door when you told them you'd be right back.

Quandry, I waited until I had to leave for work. I remember thinking to myself "these people are taking a really long time, but then again they seem really disorganized and stupid, so I suppose that may be the reason...sh*t, I really have to go or I'll be late to work..."

I didn't wait long, maybe half an hour...

I thought the study was rather elementary, so I never bothered getting the results w/regard to profiles...
