If you do your own taxes don't miss out on the new American Opportunity Credit, changed from the Hope Credit. You can receive a much larger TAX credit for Tuition and expenses related to school. It's easy to miss especially if you received a student loan and think it doesn't apply. It does. Any money paid by the loan company to your school plus your books etc., can be deducted in the year it was paid to your school. Not when you pay the loan back.
