SPOILER ALERT - if you haven't seen it yet, read no further!

    So what do you think?

I thought it was easily the best episode of this season.

For once more questions were answered than raised!

I have to admit, I never expected this direction after seeing seasons 1-4. They only started hinting at it last year.

To me, it calls to mind the book of Job. Two opposing sides, using humans as pawns to settle a "bet" of sorts.

It will be interesting to see if Jacob comes out looking better than than the God of Job by the time the series wraps up. So far, it's rather hard to view Jacob as "good" despite his opposition to "the man in black". He just seems a little less overtly evil.

It was good that Richard's character was finally explained, and why he never ages.

LOVED it, it was riveting, tragic, well written and the acting was off the charts...

It seems that many of the characters have become rather marginalized. It's become far more about the island, and less about the people. They've even managed to make Ben a far more sympathetic character then he was in the beginning.

The theme of redemption is a constant and it seems that as the show is wrapping up, we're seeing more and more of that with the characters that seemed unredeemable. The fact that they're focusing more and more on the island seems appropriate to me because the show has been leading up to explaining why it's so special from the very first episode.

It's becoming more clear that the show is about redemption and CHOICE. What choices will we make in life?

If we have made poor choices in the past, we should take every opportunity to correct the consequences of our poor choices.

I'm not certain this is a Job-like situation. I think it is more like a situation of having Good and Evil balance each other... and ensuring that balance is never broken.

Here's what I want to know: Who exactly is it that creates and enforces these mysterious "rules"?

MIB can't kill Jacob, it's against the rules, but he can get someone else to do it for him.

Jacob can't grant absolution or allow Richard to see his wife again, but he can grant eternal life.

Richard can't kill himself, but someone else can.

There were even rules affecting Ben & Widmore in either season 4 or 5....
