It was very nice to meet-up with friends. Had a great time and learned a lot. Looking forward to the next time we get together.

The Meetup is always to enjoyable. There are 6 ex-elders in our group, although one has moved from Arizona now. There are 5/6 ex-Bethelites on our list. Most here have family still JWs and therefore, can't be very public yet. Two have come to a couple meetups but aren't even on our list due JW relatives. Some have been disfellowshipped and some of us have accomplished "fading." Some on our list have never come to a Meetup but we appreciate that they have signed on and maybe at least 4 live out of state.

We so enjoy hearing everyone's experience, relate to their tough times and hearing their process of coming out of JWs and how they developed finally a positive life beyond JWs. Many of us have even developed, to some degree good humor, through it all and see the need of the healing process with laughter (the best medicine.)

I always look forward to our Meetups. We enjoy our freedom now, and our differences and yet all relate to where we have been.

I can't wait until the next one:) It's one thing to see that we aren't alone in our experiences here on the discussion board and quite another to see the real people in person behind the avatars.

Gayle, where and when do you meet in Arizona? I'm coming through in June. I grew up a lot in AZ so I'm very familiar with it.

awildflower, that would be great!! We meet up in Phoenix at a Denny's off Hwy. 17 & Dunlap, usually now on the 3rd Thursday of every month. That would be great if you could make that. If you can't at that time and another time would work better, let me know. Check your PM above.

I was born in Phoenix. I'll see if it's on my route. I'm actually going to be going through the Cottonwood, Flagstaff area so I'll see what I can do. But thanks for the invite. I'll check my pm!
