...if he or she would remain both true, and faithful.

"People who comprehend a thing to its very depths rarely stay faithful to it forever. For they have brought its depths into the light of day: and in the depths there is always much that is unpleasant to see. " - Nietsche

This certainly applies to many former JWs.

The opposite applies to people like the GB and others who benefit from keeping up the facade.

"For what men say is that, if I am really just and not also thought just, profit there is none, but the pain and loss on the other hand are unmistakable. But if, though unjust, I acquire the reputation of justice, a heavenly life is promised to me. Since then, as wise men prove, appearance tyrranizes over truth and is lord of happiness, to appearance I must devote myself." - Plato's Republic, book 2

    Gubber,

I think that quote is true, because when you go into the depths of something it requires honesty with yourself, and not just cherry picking things that give a kind of confirmation bias.

    Ziok,

I don't think the Governing Body really have that much depth when it comes to the bible or examining their own claims of being God's channel. Their examine amounts to a surface skim and only cherry picking things that confirms what they already believe. They just want to live out the rest of their miserable lives under a delusion.

    Frankie,
You're probably right concerning 90% of all GB and
others in power in the group who actually know about
the man behind the curtain. Let's call the other 10%
hangers-on and apply those words to them. They stick
around because it is easier and more beneficial to
them to do so. Being too interested in truth and
justice would lead them out, and most here can attest
to the difficult transition that follows, sometimes
    lasting years.
    Interesting thoughts, yours.

The person who is true and faithful to an idea is not true and faithful to an organization. That is why they leave the organization.

True. Hence the many posters here who left the WT when discovering the hypocrisy of the UN/NGO issue, or the addition of Jehovah's name to the NT (among other issues).

We trully knew and supported the Bible's stand on hypocrisy and could not, in good conscience, stand by and tacilty endorse it.

Many of us no longer believe in religion or God, at all ,for the same reason. We see the lack of logic and the hypocrisy. Once you do, if you are true and faithful, you have to leave.

    :)
