For those who didn't know, Larry Graham is one of Jehovah's Witnesses (and I haven't heard anything to the contrary, so I'm going to assume it's still the case). He was part of Graham Central Station and later had a solo career. GCS's 1976 album Mirror is unabashed JW doctrine set to funky hooks, which made it tough for me to listen to because I love Larry Graham's work, but the lyrics of most of the songs made me cringe.

Googling the lyrics to Larry's conversion song, "Save Me," yields nothing on the first page, so I've got them all for you right here. I've enclosed question marks around the only unclear parts.

    Mirror (1976)

    "Save Me"

    Save me

    Why won't you save me?

    [2X]

I just found out yesterday about the end (Well, well)

As strange as though it may seem they even told me when (Well, well)

I thought at first "It's a sham and I'm not gonna be took!" (No, no)

But then what opened my eyes is when I read the book--

    It was the Bible

    Why won't you save me?

    [2X]

I thought I'd lay it on you just what you ought to do (Well, well)

When they come knock on your door you ought to buy one too (Well, well)

And you should it open it up to Matthew 24 (Well, well)

And take a look for yourself just what you're living for--

    It's all in the Bible

    (Hey...oh yeah...what you say...oh yeah....oh hey)

You (?)have a new(?) people, listen people

You (?)have a new(?) people, people people

You (?)have a new(?) people, listen people

The Bible says that we all will get a chance to know (Well, well)

The Truth TM all over the world before He slams the door (Well, well)

If you don't want to go down in Armageddon's state (Well, well)

You better flee for your life from Babylon the Great--

    It's all in the Bible

You (?)have a new(?) people, people people
