Anyone read this book? It's hilarious:
It talks about the writer's experience in distancing himself from the ultra-orthodox Jewish family he was born in. Those of us born or grown up in a JWs family and who left can relate. I did ... and had fun.
I did! Loved it as well. I remember killing myself laughing in parts!
In much the same vein, might I recommend Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres. Definitely not a humourous book, but another story of what it takes to leave fundamentalism behind.
I had never heard of Foreskin's Lament. Now that I have, I cannot wait to read it.
"that is SO god!"
heading to the library now to see
if the interlibrary loan system can produce
the book.... otherwise i will procure
it after taxes and then donate it!!
