I watched the interview. He was a major school hater and a bit of a roust-about. His history is very similar to my own father, same birth year and so forth. I really liked his persona in films. He's an interesting character. Thanks for posting. W.Once

You're very welcome. I recommend the movies. "Emily" is a well-written love
story with some unexpected twists, and I'm just fond of some of the humor of
"Sheriff" that makes fun of western cliches, like when the movie has Garner do
the typical hero thing of making an unlikely accurate shot and Jack Elam just
says, "That's wierd." -

I was a big fan of the Maverick TV show and loved The Rockford Files. I saw Jim Garner up close in 1968. He was the grand marshall of the Rex Mays 300 race at the Riverside, Ca. raceway.

I always liked him....when i read the overview of notebook...i thought geeze that is the dumbest sounding movie ever..."and old man reads a book to an old woman"...ya like that is gonna be good!.....i cried like a baby....oompa
