First of all: hugs Sooner...

It made me think for a while about feelings we have to deal with in our lives...

How do I see it?

Is it not WTBS who wanted us to believe "we have to do something extraordinary to be worth of love, apreciacion, attention"? We had to be pioneers, elders, servants, to comment twice at each meeting, to do this and that to deserve attention an apreciacion... and if you dont, you are weak, not worth of anything nice. How many times did we hear "Sure, even some members of the congregation will not survive Armageddon...!!!" (Translaton: Fear and feel guilty you damned bastards!)

Nobody is judging you and nobody is comparing you to somebody else. Everybody here is special and very important friend. Everybody here is helping to find freedom to those who are traped in a dangerous cult. It is not about deep comments, Its about you, who found the way out of the cult. Just by being and posting here you show to others that it is possible to escape WT and to build your own life.

Before I came here I was figuring out what to do (one feet out of WT..) for several years. After reading your stories and posts I realized what I really want to do with my life and today so many things have changed. Now Iam ou and first time after 18 years I feel free, life is so different, I teach the real truth my son and even my wife (raised up in an ultra hardcore JW family) is making incredible progress....

The big change came after comming here and being able to know you, to talk to you and to share ideas and feelings with you...!

Albert, thanks for the kind words and advice. You're right about the feeling of "you're not doing enough" that they always tried to burden us all with. You're also right about it being over.

Excellent thoughts, and I wanted to give an opinion on the above statement of AE here.

There have been times at my lowest where I have questioned the above statement in my case. Having made plenty of mistakes in my life, and being aware that I still have parts of me I don't like, I have gone into the occasional bout of self loathing.

I have read several books, before and after the borg, that have had a profound effect on me: The message by those who are in the mental health/self improvement field is both positive and true: No one can take your place.

Genetically speaking, there will never be a combination of your parents, the potential that represents.

Experentially, there will never be a person with your genetics who have gone through what you have in your life.

Your unique voice that comes from who you are genetically and through experience is a powerful voice and vision.

It is true that many would seek to silence it. That is the whole cusp behind any person or organization who tries to seize or maintain power: To marginalize you.

It never occurs to bullies, or bully organizations and cults like JW's that there is a happy medium between the goals of a group and the need for you to maintain and grow individually. In fact, the best places to work or worship do recognize this fact, and they realize they grow stronger when you grow stronger, and simply grow.

All of us should be determined never to submit to abuse ever again. We should be determined to choose as friends, associates and jobs where you are respected and can grow.

I have a voice, and I am determined to use it and grow it. I hope that everyone here realizes that they have the same power, if not more, to take their irreplaceable selves, and make a difference.
