Boyzone and the WT contract

ON another thread Boyzone said the new baptism vows read like a contract.

I maintain it IS a contract, giving the WTBTS some kind of legal leverage in court cases.

Remember when they were trying to stop fair quotation from their books - those doing it were in "breach of contract" I think were the words.

There was a whole thread on this subject of a contract with the WTBTS about three years ago.

Since a minor cannot enter into a contract, the new vows essentially make their baptism INVALID.

So they should be able to get it anulled. Nor can minors give gifts. So they should be able to ask for all the donations they made as kids to be returned to them.

Plenty of good comments from Leo and Blondie as I recall.

Now, this makes perfect sense--to us. However, the witlesses are sure to find a way around it, as they want to make everyone that ever got baptized legally as well as "morally" obligated to serve the Washtowel Slaveholdery forever (or for life), even if they change the rules after the fact. That will allow them to go after those who are inactive or that they feel are not doing "enough" for them.

And, once they find a way to scam the judges (who are notoriously stupid and easy to scam like this), they will start going after those who were baptized and start getting court injunctions and court orders for those to give up all their time (yes, from 5:30 AM to 1:30 the next AM) for field circus. So much for "Satan" running this system.

My wife wrote a very good email to the UN about the JW's double-standard re. human rights and changing one's religion. This is good stuff too.
