Thank you, Atlantis, for these files! As you noted, John Paton had a very strong influence over the early issues of Zion's Watch Tower until his break with Russell in 1881. The first edition of Day Dawn (1880) was mentioned several times in the Watch Tower and was the first book circulated by Russell and his group after the magazine started. The famous "Wanted 1,000 Preachers" article in the April, 1881 Watch Tower mentions the first edition of Day Dawn (along with the Watch Tower magazine and some tracts) as the message being circulated. Russell wrote:

To those so situated that they can give one-half or more of their time exclusively to the work of the Lord, we have a plan to suggest. [We refer to those who have not families dependent on them for support-- both men and women,] viz: That you go forth into large or small cities, according to your ability, as Colporteurs or Evangelists, seek to find in every place the earnest Christians, many of whom you will find possessed of a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge; to these seek to make known the riches of Our Father's grace, and the beauties of His word, giving them tracts; and as a work of kindness and love to them, endeavor to sell them the "Day Dawn," or to take their subscription for the "Watch Tower," [or if interested, but too poor to purchase, presenting the same as a gift from God.]

As few could afford to travel, pay their board and clothe themselves without some income, we propose to furnish the TRACTS and DAY DAWNS free, and to allow any such person to take subscriptions for the WATCH TOWER, using the money obtained from both of these sources, ("Day Dawn and Watch Tower,"-- the Tracts are free and must not be sold,) in defraying necessary expenses. Should your receipts be more than would be needed to pay expenses, (not at all probable,) you would be expected to make some returns to us.

The second edition of Day Dawn (1882) was written after the break between Rusell and Paton and having this available will help researchers understand the differences that developed. It will also be helpful to have these other books too.

For those who already have the first edition in PDF -- I note that the 1880 edition offered here by Atlantis is searchable. I downloaded it and found some great results from various searches. One that caught my eye was searching for "1844". Day Dawn compared the 30 year period between 1844 and 1874 as a "tarrying in the holy place." It helps to connect the Miller movement in 1844 with the movement begun by Barbour in 1873 and then continued by Russell and Paton in 1879.
