The Mountain of Meggido

Ha! There is no mountain of meggido!

There was a valley of Megiddo; a city of Meggido; a king of Meggido, and waters of Meggido----but there was no mountain by that name!

Megiddo was a fortress city which guarded ancient Israel's most critical mountain pass.

Megiddo was located on an elevation overlooking the Plain of Jezreel. The city was located at the foot of the Mount Carmel range. The "mountain of Megiddo" could easily be a reference to Mt. Carmel. It could be a metaphor that functions as something other than a physical location.

that's true, cameo. the spin that the fds puts on that is that is an indicator that Armageddon will not be fought in any physical location, but rather a spiritual and global one.

stillin: "the spin that the fds puts on that is that is an indicator that Armageddon will not be fought in any physical location, but rather a spiritual and global one."

Actually, the "spin" is not unique to the watchtower or the FDS. This is the same concept taught in all of Christendom. WT is in line with all the other religions in this interpretation.
