I just finished watching the video of the show and I am very surprised that the Amish is a cult just like the JWs and the Mormons and so on.

It was a real eye opener.

I'm glad the main person Ephram was able to find the real truth about the Amish cult and found the real Truth and that is Jesus Christ.

He got ex-communicated for many reasons.

Reading the bible in English other than their standard bible which is in German, in which case alot of them can't understand it. Reading a non-german language bible is forbidden. (sounds like a control group)

He also was booted for preaching the Gospel of Jesus (the Amish don't learn from the bible that Jesus is the way to Salvation, but from good works and people fear death worrying they won't find favor with God. But since Ephram found Jesus and got saved, he got booted for that too.)

Prayer meetings is also forbidden, something he said about encouraging demons into their lives, etc. Not 100% sure why, I need to watch the video again.

The Amish has so many rules that it's ridiculously just like the Pharasees who make up rules all the time.

It was interesting to see Ephram getting into some electronics which is strictly forbidden. He got himself a land phone and a cell phone. Something the Amish forbids, something about making contact with the demonized world or something. Really weird.

This whole thing about the Amish is very facinating and yet disturbing at the same time.

Have any of you seen it? What are your thoughts on it.

Reniaa needs to see this video too, I am very sure she will find alot of simularities with the JWs.

Sorry you guys, but the Amish don't allow robots or monkeys to join their cult. You'll have to join Scientology.

The families seem to enjoy the lifestyle, even though it is damned hard work.

It is the doctrinal stuff and nit-picking control that the boys are bucking.

Is it so that about 80% of their youth that leave, go back?

Did you know that the kids are allowed to go "into the world" if they want to when they reach a certain age? If they do, and choose to come back, all is forgiven and they are in. I always thought that was a trip.

I was travelling in Amish country in Lancaster PA once. I saw an amazing picture. A team of horses with a huge wide plow behind it, with a little girl driving the horses standing on the plow. There was a littler girl sitting on the back looking backward, swinging her bare feet. They both had on the typical garb, bonnet, and bare feet. It was like stepping into the past.
