I remember when I was a kid listening to the sweet guitar sounds of The Ventures. I loved Walk Don't Run, Hawaii Five-O and a string of instrumental songs that just blew me away. There sound was a big inspiration to me as I learned to play guitar. I am sorry to hear that Bob Bogle died on June 14th of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was 75. I guess the angels are learning how to jam to Pipeline & Wipe Out....

Anyone else a fan of the Ventures and Bob's music?

Aw, that sucks. I was jamming out to their rendition of "Secret Agen Man" while running some errands earlier. I've got a few Ventures albums on LP and 8-track, and love them. Their "Joy" album was one of my most favorites.

    RIP Bob.

I used to have a bunch of their albums. One of them (I can't remember now which one) lived down the street a bit from my parent's house. They played recently here in Seattle. I didn't hear about it until after the show, or I would have tried to go.

RIP, Bob. You were an inspiration for me to play guitar.

I played a killer Hard Rock version of Walk Don't Run in your honor at a jam last night . .
