The best 'cussing out' I've ever heard...and it's still going on....

outside my window, in the big Walnut tree, a squirrel is having a cussing match with a big crested Blue Jay. I know this has to do with the feeder full of sunflower seeds just below them. The squirrel seems to do most of the talking but the Jay keeps hopping down to the feeder and then back up on the branch about 2 feet from the squirrel.

Between the two, I think I would rather have the squirrels raiding the feeder. Jays are obnoxious and run off the other birds, whereas the squirrel will set on the feeder with little birds right next to him.

It's nice to find others who take the time to feed the wildlife around them!

Every morning we feed the birds and the squirrels. In the beginning, they would chase each other away, and as you said the bluejays seemed to be the worst offenders. It took awhile, but now they all seem to get along and allow each other their space (Most of the time anyways). Many times I now see the Squirrels and the Jays within just a couple feet of each other minding their own business as they pick up their treats.

It started with a family of 4 Squirrels, now we have up to 9 different ones daily, as well as the Jays, Cardinals, Grackles, and other birds that I have no clue as to what kind they are.

Evening time is different with the Salamanders that come out from under our eaves. We put out water for them as well as the occasional flies we are able to catch. We love taking care of the Animals!!!

Blue jays are such bullies. I hate those little bastards.

lol... I saw the exact same scene outside my back window this morning.

I have one of those Squirrel feeders that holds dry corn on the cob. The Blue Jay was taking corn from the feeder and the squirrel was just pitching a fit!

You’re right… squirrels are very greedy. They take food from other animals and pitch a fit when others take their food.
