An inquiry into child abuse at Catholic institutions in Ireland has found church leaders knew that sexual abuse was "endemic" in boys' institutions.
It also found physical and emotional abuse and neglect were features of institutions.
Schools were run "in a severe, regimented manner that imposed unreasonable and oppressive discipline on children and even on staff".

And yet the real problem, the thing that is going to destroy western civilisation is atheism and subjective morality.

I had read an article about this that the church leadership knew for decades how dangerous this was to children-and thought it could be dealt with by confession. There were a lot of 'institutional' type responses to the issue which sounded so like the WT to me. The more you take on in the name of God or your religion, the more obligation you have to do it RIGHT. This is something that the church(es) are going to be answering to at any judgement, because they didn't protect the flock, they didn't even TRY. Any of the good things one does are not going to be remembered after your name becomes known in the context of Bundy and Manson.
