    They had a show on Michael trasser who was a cult leader who said the end would come Oct. 31 2007. The reason I bring this up one of his cult followers a 15yr girl said her parents say she has been brainwashed.

    She than responded with the classic witness response: 'yes I have been brain washed my brain has been washed clean of all unpure immoral thoughts.'

    Gotta love the uniformity of cults. Oh yeah he got his start in adventist. I swear they have spawned most the cults of the 20th century including the dubs.

    It's very interesting, and most ex-JWs will be able to spot some similarities in the Thought Reform.

    When you are under Dubby influence you only notice the differences between your cult and the cult on the TV.

    Now that I am well and truly out, it is the similarities that stand out.

    Even Charlie Manson and his Family use the same type of logic as a Dubby who is desperately trying to cover over the Watchtower's many inconvenient truths.

    Yes, you're right, Black Sheep. I watched that 2 hour show about Charles Manson on MSNBC last night. He spouted out some of the same type things as the JWs.

    My husband and I saw the program last night also. Seems the "end timers" fixation makes people nutty or nuttier. The belief stops short analytical thinking and incompletes long term survivor reality and skills. I think the "end time" belief is a self-righteous mask of depression/suicidal tendency.

    At 2 PM CDT, the National Geographic Channel is airing a 2009 update to this original show.

    It's entitled, "Inside a Cult: Messiah on Trial", regarding the trial of Wayne Bent.
