I posted a reply on thread "Are the Governing Body even supposed to go to the Memorial" by Maryacclaim....

It got me wondering if any of the "Annointed" actually know each other. I mean this is the most 'exlusive and unique' group of people living on this earth according to JWs...is it not? Do they actually have a friendship with any of their fellow kings/ priests/ judges - someone to have coffee with and discuss their future job and all things heavenly?

It appears to be that there is no record kept of any names of the partakers at the memorial.

WT 89 15th Aug pg 20 "It is within the realm of possibility and of likelihood that, some day in the future, the names of all those annointed Christians who have made their "calling and choosing " sure and who have been blessed by this supernal resurrection will be published in full for the information of the Human family in their earthly paradise." (Ps 87:5,6)

WT 06 15th July pg 12 "will those who receive life in the earthly paradise ever know the names of those resurrected to heavenly life?" These verses indicate that this is likely a possibility". (ps 87: 5,6 )

Apart from the ones who have their wings at Brooklyn it appears that even the GB and FDS do not know the names of these 9,000+. Are they afraid of mass stalking ? Are they afraid these ones may be idolised and worshipped ? Or are they afraid to compile a list in case half the people on it are kidding themselves and have "mental problems" ?

They have a list of the paedos, do they not ? Surely this group is far more important. Any thoughts.............?

Have you read Ray Franz's books?

He makes it quite clear that the Circuit Overseer never even seeks out such ones. NOBODY cares what these (non-Bethel) anointed ones think about anything.

Having professed to be one of the Anointed for 25 years, I have posted many threads on this topic. What "leavingwt" said is partly true. Circuit Overseers typically want to know who the Anointed are, if any. Each visit he note how many Anointed are in the Congregation and he reviews their Publisher cards. Those who are Anointed at the congregation level are indeed recorded and the Watchtower Society knows exactly who they are. The Congregation Publisher Record Card states whether one is of the Anointed with a code (A) or one of the Other Sheep (OS). This concern with the local Anointed was true when I became a JW in the late 1960s, and became heightened in the 1980s when a large number of JWs started professing to be Anointed.

Typically, unless there happens to be more than one Anointed person in the congregation, it is not common for them to know one another or associate. Regular exclusive association by the Anointed is quietly frwoned upon. In our congregation where I also served as an Elder, we had three Anointed. I was friends with one, more so that the other. When I served as an MS in another congregation, we had two Anointed. The other brother, and Elder, would not socialize much with anyone, including me.

Anointed men who serve as Elders can be called back to Bethel. I knew of one who was asked to go to Bethel. As far as 'insight' or 'opinions' the Watchtower Scoeity has "no interest" in any of the local Anointed, except for those they have known for a long time, and trust them because they have served steadily in some responsible position. But, such Anointed members will never really have an effective voice unless they are appointed to the Governing Body.

Anointed at the local level know this, and understand their role is of no real importance. In fact, there is an unwritten rule (unless things have changed) that Anointed are not suppose to highlight their hope so as to avoid the appearance of recruiting or boasting. And Anointed members instinctively know that they are not suppose to offer their opinion or insights to the Society unless asked.

ONE MAN (at any particular time) called the shots from the 1870's until the 1970's.

This should tell you all you need to know about a slave CLASS.

    Leavingwt,

You are quite correct up through Rutherford. Then the role was split three ways, Knorr, as President, was the business manager, Fred Franz was the doctrine guru, and Convington was the legal beagle. However, Knorr received the most reverence by the rank and file because of his position as President. Then, in the 1970s, with the introduction of the Governing Body, Knorr's role was diminished as the entire Body became more prominent.

So, it would be safe to say that DOCTRINALLY, it was one man for 100 years?

If so, it wasn't a CLASS of people receiving informtation from God, to feed others, until the 70's. At that time, it became a TINY group.

    LWT,

Yes, your assessment is about right. Though by the time Fred Franz was the spiritual guru, he was not the only person who contributed to the body of research and knowledge published. Ray Franz mentioned a number of these contributors. Whereas Rutherford virtually hogged the show ... though even he relied some on contributions from trusted writers at Bethel. The Finished Mystery, published about 1918, was the work of others, like Woodworth, but Rutherford proofed and approved it with changes. Rutherford, like Russell, was the unquestioned boss. Knorr was in effect the boss overall until the mid-1970s. Whereas today, or since the late 1970s, there has not been an obvious or official visible boss ... though functionally, rumor has it that Ted Jarecz controls of the Governing Body.

Thank you, Amazing. Your comments are most informative.

What you've said about Jaracz jives with the vibrations I felt while at Bethel.

Its definitely in the Society's interests of high control that the 'anointed' do not socialise together. Keep them isolated and guilty about taking the emblems.
