What'll go first; basketball or "the truth"?

Very interesting. Stuff like this was unheard of a generation ago, now it seems to be more common (although still noteworthy).
With no explicit or implicit Armageddon date set, kids have lost interest in a "theocratic career". The WT can bluster all it wants to about its "spiritual education" programs, but kids are seeing right through it and pursuing "worldly" interests. Good for them!
Without committed, fully-sold kids today, there will be no leaders 20 years down the road. WT will dwindle into (further) insignificance.

@ sri82, exactly. The problem the WTS is facing is that they don't have an end-time date or time frame anymore. This means they have lost that particular tentacle of power. It will have to be replaced by another.

also...if they intend to move towards mainstreaming...their enmity towards christendom will lessen....so no time frame or perceived enemies
