The Reason Why Jehovah's Witnesses Have No Real Hope

The majority of Witnesses were taught that the end was just around the corner, that millions now living will never die. They believed that this generation would by no means pass away until all things were fulfilled within their lifetime.

Jehovah's Witnesses were suckered! They bought into everlasting life and never dying. But they DO see the reality. Everyone is getting older, sicker and eventually dying. The result?? They have no real hope. They have nowhere else to go. They have no real friends. They are isolated. Many are miserable and stuck in a lifestyle with no promise. And if they try to better themselves, they are cast as materialistic and worldly. And if they simply want to get out with no strings attached, they are trapped because once you become a Witness, it's like being in the Mafia----there's only one way to get out----death.

    What a hopeless life!

Well put. The ones that are stuck in the friggin cult due to circumstance (family etc) are jealous of ones like us who had the courage to say"enough". We are the bold ones , ones of courage who are moving forward with life, learning, experiencing life. The only ansewer they have to anything is "The New System". It will be a cure all. The only thing they focus on is something that does not exist. SAD BUT TRUE.

Of course if you mention this type of thing they will only give you the bums rush and play the old ,"We never said the WT was infallible", card. Now it's an invisible generation , after decades of convincing people they knew what was meant by generation giving them false hope and lies as, "meat in due season".

They are not really offered a hope or a promise. They are offered a "prospect" of everlasting life in the New World Order. I am a California boy and I know a bit about what a "prospect" is. In 1849 people started coming to California because of the "prospect" of finding gold. People who seek gold are called "prospectors". Some got wealthy. Many got some gain. Many more worked it for a time and then moved on in life because the "prospect" did not pay off.

Being required to obey stringent directives, not knowing clearly what and how much must be done and then being offered a mere "prospect" of a reward has very little appeal to most people.

Good point. The JWs are really unskilled at getting older and older in years because they were led to believe the end's just around the corner. Hell, ageing is hard at the best of times (sigh!) but so much harder when you have genuinely believed you wouldn't get older.

That's a really good point and I can think of several relatives both alive and dead that these feelings probably apply to. They never, ever thought they would be old or sick or dying.
