When i first heard that the airline gave each passenger $5,000 to cover lost luggage, I thought that was pretty good. I've flown quite a bit and have never carried anything close to $5,000 worth of personal items.
If the airline picks up any and all medical expenses, including trauma counseling in addition to the luggage sum, there's not much else anyone can expect.
But then I thought a little more about it, and figured that someone would sue for more. I just kinda knew somebody stoop that low.
So, no, I'm not surprised.

I'll almost bet that when the plane was going down, some people on it were thinking..."Oh boy, if I live through this, I'll be rich"!
Some people will sue at the drop of a hat. And then of course, the "ambulance chasers" must have all their phone numbers, too.
