If women are included in the group of 144,000, what part do they play in the WTS?

I believe that the entire Watchtower religion/publishing company is built on the foundation of the chosen "faithful and discreet slave". There really isn't a ''faithful and discreet slave'' or any men or women that are chosen to form a ''faithful and discreet'' class. The Governing Body and lawyers control the WTS. Wouldn't these men and women be put to a greater use?

If women are included in this group of 144,000, what is the official reason the WTS give as to why they can't pray for the congregation,conduct a book study,become an Elder,Circuit Overseer,or District Overseer ? What benefit are they if they can't take part in any of these functions?

At one time the following tale was very meaningful to me. Now it touches me only insofar as the Jewish-woman-become-spiritual-Jew was a dear friend.

This anointed sister told me that "the remnant" (all there were at that time, with some exceptions, were anointed JWs) were invited to write the Society. Given the nature of her comments to me, there appeared no fear or hesitancy in putting forth her thoughts in writing and sending them to headquarters. She expressed her viewpoint on Scripture relating to the anointed, as yet not put forth in the publications. She anxiously awaited a reply but none was forthcoming. Anton Koerber, her friend and member of some standing at Bethel, told her to be patient. Two years later, her understanding of those scriptures as applied to the anointed was printed in The Watchtower.

I was moved by the story and convinced (at that time) that this wonderful woman was directed by Jehovah and used toward the furtherance of a more correct understanding of who truly are Christ's brothers.

My faith has been detoured, for better or worse ...

The thing I don't understand is that The Apostle Paul

refers to "older men" (ie elduhs") and describes their required qualifications,

and then he says "likewise OLDER WOMEN must be etc..."

Older women must be addressed like "Mothers".

It seems to me that women with true wisdom and experience can be of great help

in the congregation, especially on things that those with penises have no

experience of. and they can give a truly unique insight a male might never think of.

see no reason in view of this that women should not be appointed to positions of oversight in the congo.

The Dubs use the Scripture "I suffer not a woman to teach. She should be silent."

However conveying the word of God from the Bible is not teaching.

For instance if it said "I suffer not a woman to cook" does this mean a woman is not allowed

to heat up a microwave meal?

All I think Paul meant by this is that Women had not been given a mandate

to actively reinterpret scripture and make major decisions without consulting everybody in the Church.

And we also need to remember that "man" in the Bible is often used as a generic term including females.

Of course can you imagine a JC composed of Pre Menstrual women?

Watchtower 2000, page 12, paragraphs 8-9:

8 There will be associate rulers with Christ Jesus in God’s heavenly Kingdom. Revelation 14:1-4 foretold that 144,000 persons were to be “bought from among mankind” and resurrected to heavenly life. These include men and women who, instead of being served, humbly served God and fellow humans. “They will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.” (Revelation 20:6) Their number is much smaller than the “great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues” who will survive this system’s end. These too render God “sacred service day and night,” but they do not have a heavenly calling. (Revelation 7:9, 15) They form the nucleus of the new earth as subjects of God’s heavenly Kingdom.—Psalm 37:29; John 10:16.

9 In choosing those who would rule with Christ in heaven, Jehovah selected faithful humans who had experienced life with all its problems. There is virtually nothing that people have been through that these king-priests have not also experienced. So their life on earth will enhance their ability to rule over humans. Even Jesus himself “learned obedience from the things he suffered.” (Hebrews 5:8) The apostle Paul said about him: “We have as high priest, not one who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tested in all respects like ourselves, but without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15) How comforting to know that in God’s righteous new world, people will be ruled by loving, sympathetic kings and priests!
