East Coast People Got Obama Started - West Coast Drove Him to Victory !

It was interesting watching the trend in votes last night as the results came in ! It reminded me somewhat of a major league baseball game where you east coast people put Obama on base and we in California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii drove him home with the winning votes to put him over the 270 he needed at the time to win the election ! So- I want to congratulate each of you that casted your votes across the country wherever you are for helping put this man into the White House.

A couple of things I noticed which were interesting. Obama wasn't expected to win Virginia, but he did. Also- A major usually Republican stronghold Florida, he came away victorious there ( no shenanigans this time ) . Typical religious fundy turf in the Bible belt states, and the deep south went for McCain, naturally. But notice Obama did take Ohio, Pennsylvania , and was neck and neck in Indiana ( typically a Republican state) . So he did get his message out and get some crossover votes as well ! I read in our local Sacramento Bee paper where some long time Republicans due to frustration with Bush did vote Obama as they want change too !

So- What trends did you folks notice ? Did you have any thoughts and comments on what you saw go down last night ? It truly was an election for the ages - as an ex- Jehovah's Witness, it truly was a great feeling to have a say and be a part of it ! Look forward to your thoughts ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Anyway- thought that an interesting variety of people voted for Obama. Record numbers of young people, blacks, whites, hispanics, old, middle age, and even crossovers from the Republican camp. So what did you notice ? Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Hey Flipper, don't forget the midwest. It was really blue on the map, except for Missouri. I think a lot of folks recognized the need to make some major changes in this country.

CHOOSING LIFE- I agree that Obama was supported a great deal in the midwest as well. But if you look at a map showing the demographics of where the votes came - it was mainly in the Northern midwest in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois , and yes Missouri was split down the middle , but a long straight line could be drawn right down the middle of the country in the Bible belt supporting McCain . And needless to say most of the Southern states supported McCain - stands to reason
