I think I was lucky living here in Toronto.
We had an incredible FM station called: CFNY 102.1
Also, across the lake and a bit inland, was Buffalo, New York's Magic 102.5 (WMJQ-FM).
There was a time here / there, where British music was so rampant ... in a good way.

Yes you Brits; we know while at those silly assemblies, you were in your Ford Cortinas and Vauxhalls, listening to "Top Of The Pops".
I'll admit, I found that show, lame. Over here (Canada) we gave little known British bands, ample air time.
Toronto-Buffalo (1989-1991) was a hotbed of FM activity.
