You're looking at $500 minimum. If you can find a Private Dr. who takes cash. Most won't take you on, because then there's an implied relationship that they continue to be on the hook for, malpractice insurance wise.

You can go to a clinic, it will cost you the whole day and maybe $250.

I paid 125.00 for a vision test and it lasts for a year. You can go to any place like Sears etc.

I paid 300.00 for a physical exam and had to pay cash up front.

Just paid 225.00 to get a dental check up and cleaning - had to pay cash.

Medical "Checkups" are not covered by our universal health care in BC, unless you are over the age of 65, or have a health condition, such as diabetes or heart disease, or at a regular appointment the pysician determines that a physical exam may be necessary. Our clinic charges $70. for such an exam, but the BC Medical Association fee guide allows us to charge up to $120. Paps and gynecological exams are covered. Eye examinations cost arout $70 for adults (not covered under our universal healthcare), and $7 for kids under 19 (subsidized by our healthcare system).
