Republican, Democrat, Independent, or anywhere around the world.....We all want to raise happy, well adjusted children. So why is it, the Republicans in America claim they are the family value party.

Are we not all valuing families?

It is obvious that abstinence/no education or education for teenagers regarding sex seems to make no difference.....its going to depend on the teenager.

That whether you are prolife or prochoice, in the end in it will be up to the individual and many change their minds once in that position.

That most women find raising their children themselves if they can, is one of the most rewarding experiences in the world?

That grandchildren are a special joy.

That in the end your family is most important and what we all individually work to take care of?

That in the end this is why so many exjws are pissed because their family was torn apart by religion?

So are political parties really so far apart on family values?

Officially..... They claim it due to their conservative stances on abortion and marriage via the Christian Right......

As far as the rest.....polarization set in decades ago...

Of course we aren't, that's why it's such a powerfull tactic to point at the other guy and say he has none.

You are right (or left). It's not like one side are blood drinking, baby killing, devil worshipers and the other side cloaked in the American flag, eating apple pie. I think we are all basically the same and want the same things, just very different ideas on "how" we get there.

You gotta point there. The fundamentalist of any religion tend to be predisposed towards black&white thinking. I'm sure that living by the code of a ancient collection of sacred writings thousands of years old has a retarting influence on emotional and mental development, as well as moral stagnation to a time when stoning was a proper way of handling adultery, crossdressing, & having sex durring a mentral cycle.

Moral judgements based on ancient writtings tend to make one feel morally superior to those not restricted by such writtings. And thus the side that claims to represent the ancient moral codes, may have the illusion that they represent the "true family values" all based on ancient ideas of what is proper. This apeal to a higher source of morality is redily accepted by those indoctrinated and can be used as a moral factor to gain votes if the apposing side can be demonized and shown not to be following this ancient code in a strict fundamentalist interpetation that they have been indoctrinated with.

AT least that is the way I see it.
