Google Maps Street Views: Brooklyn & Beth Sarim

  This may be old news...I just discovered this. If you click on Street Views when using Google Maps in some locations you get actual pictures of the area. For example, 25 Columbia Heights in Brooklyn Heights:

  http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=watchtower+brooklyn+new+york&layer=c&ie=UTF8&ll=40.734121,-73.986912&spn=0.05099,0.16737&t=p&z=13&cbll=40.70193,-73.99458&panoid=gzdKsTz4NMyHIcAxnH69gA&cbp=2,36.392473623709236,,0,5

  From there you can follow the areas and go through most of Brooklyn Heights. It brought back a flood of memories for me! My favorite one was following the streets up to Henry St and finding one of my favorite haunts: Fascati's Pizza. I think every Bethelite knows that place. I remember running into Audrey Knorr picking up a pizza there one night!

  You can do the same thing with the street that Beth Sarim in San Diego is on:

  Let's try this...Go to Google Maps:

  http://maps.google.com/

  In the search box type:

  watchtower brooklyn new york

  You should get a map with some options on the left. One of these is Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY. Click on that and it should pop up a bubble with more options. One of these will say "Street View." Click on that and that will take you to the corner of Columbia Heights and Vine St. You can navigate from there.

  Or, you can click on the one for Dora Barnes MD (apparently a doctor at Bethel) and it will take you to the 124 Columbia Heights building.

  You can do the same with Beth Sarim by typing Beth Sarim San Diego in the search field at Google Maps and then going to the "Street View." Fascinating to be able to view the buildings this way.
