Interestingly, the Olympic Games are being held in 2012, in Great Britain. What significance may this have for our spritual outlook of the future?

Illumination
Faithful, observant students of God's word will notice that the very first image depicts the venue as being highlighted in an extraordinary fashion, while all the area around is darkened.
We are, of course, reminded of Jesus' words at Matthew 24: "Immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken. At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory." This also has another, equally important, implication for those who love Jehovah God today; if these ones have insight that 2012 is an important year they will shine as illuminators while others are in spiritual darkness. Only by being aware of the immense importance of 2012 and the olympic games can a true servant bask in the light shone by Jesus and his heavenly father.
Destruction
The next prophetic piece of imagery with which we are presented is a stark representation of the impending doom all should be in fear of.
A heavenly body is clearly seen to be descending from the sky towards the earth at great speed.* What a momentous time this will be! No one will have cause to say that they were not forewarned. "The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire." - Revelation 16:8. Heeding the warnings of Revelation and doing our best to warn others is essential for our very survival!
Nevertheless, notice how those busy with their work do not even notice it. May we be determined never to let the things of this world distract us from the truely wonderous signs we see, even right now.
A Promise From Our Creator
Do Jehovah's true worshippers have to be in dread of these destructive events which are soon to come? The answer to this question is a resounding 'No!' See what the next image holds for us.
This glorious image of the certain future is even headed 'After the games'. No doubt, this signals the building of the wonderous, perfect new system of things that Jehovah has promised his people. Do we not look forward to this time, as foretold by David who was inspired to write "The meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace." Psalm 37:11.
Advanced bible students will also immediately relate the significance of the happy black man on the left of the picture to what has previously been revealed on this very forum regarding the characteristics of the returning Messiah. How privileged we will be to feel as if our saviour is walking in our very midst! Make the choice to continue placing your trust in those who disperse such valuable truth, now and always.
Many today are spiritually drowsy and refuse to wake up to the fact that deliverance is at hand if they would only pay attention and act on what their creator has told them.
* Many who feel they have greater wisdom than those Jehovah has chosen to provide spiritual direction today will likely assert this image merely demonstrates a phenomenon often seen in photography. Those who wish to stick close to Jehovah will not listen to their negative messages, knowing that they will be rewarded for their faithfulness.
