IN THE END - LINKIN PARK

    It starts with
One thing I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
    To explain in due time
    All I know
    Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
    The clock ticks life away
    It's so unreal
    Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on but didn't even know
I wasted it all just to
    Watch you go
I kept everything inside and even though I tried it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when...

    I tried so hard
    And got so far
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter
    I had to fall to
    and lose it all
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter

One thing I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
    To remind myself how
    I tried so hard
In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I'm surprised it got so (far)
Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then
But it all comes back to me
    In the end
You kept everything inside and even though I tried it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried

    I tried so hard
    And got so far
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter
    I had to fall
    to lose it all
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
    for all this
There's only one thing you should know

I've put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
    And for all this
There's only one thing you should know
    I tried so hard
    And got so far
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter
    I had to fall
    to lose it all
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter

I like sad songs. I don't know why but I do. I'm not familiar with the music to this one but I like the lyrics.

    Hi Frenchy!
    How are you!

I recently got addicted to this song and am intrigued by the unique music style of this band. They fuse alternative and hip hop (in this song anyway). I don't know what their other music is like, but I'm really interested in picking up the disc.

The lyrics (as always) have personal meaning to me in this part of my life. The chorus is a stark reminder of all I've invested as a JW and where I stand now. It just rings with so much truth, as I see it:

    I tried so hard
    And got so far
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter
    I had to fall to
    and lose it all
    But in the end
    It doesn't even matter
Nice to see you, French Knight! :)

One of my favourites at the moment Kristen. Such a departure from your Kate Bush/Tori Amos.. LOL

    Hi Path!

A song we both like at the same time, eh?

I'm finding my music taste getting more diverse as time goes on. But I'll always love Tori, Kate, Natalie, and Stevie!

Kristen, this is INDEED an excellent song. I got the same vibes from it as you have. Raised on R&B, Soul, Disco, and later House Underground, I have been thrown into the R&R world as a DJ.
I simply LOVE music in general. LINKIN PARK is a good group, and I hope they are here to stay.
Going back a few years, I also like the BON JOVI song Its My Life.
Those lyrics are also inspiring. If I find the lyrics again, I will post them in this thread.

This song resonates with me, too.

My daughter has the CD and is into Linkin Park, Incubus, Good Charlotte, Blink184, Puddle in Mudd(?) etc., etc., which I get to listen to as well as we drive around town together.

LOL -- Frenchy -- old as I am, I even know the music!

    Thanks for posting this, Kristen.
