Police: Man Attempts To Cash $360 Billion Check

    POSTED: 5:16 pm CDT April 30, 2008 UPDATED: 10:50 pm CDT April 30, 2008

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Fort Worth police arrested a Crowley man accused of trying to cash a stolen check for billions of dollars.

Police said Charles Ray Fuller, 21, tried to cash the check at a Chase Bank, but the teller did a double take after noticing the check was for $360 billion.

The check was made out to "Fulla Comp and Entertainment," the record company Fuller wanted to start, NBC 5 reported.

The check belonged to Paula Prettyman, the mother of Fuller's girlfriend, Andrea Greer.

"I wouldn't picture him doing something that stupid, I mean, hurting me and my family," Greer said.

Greer and her family said they don't know what Fuller was thinking.

"I didn't think he'd do this, something this dumb. I think it shocked everybody that knew him," Greer said.

    Her grandmother Sharon Laird agreed.

"I said, 'Do what? Is he crazy? We were just in awe," she said.

Laird said if her family had $360 billion, "I wouldn't be sitting here. I'd be somewhere drinking margaritas. It's five o'clock somewhere, sometime."

Authorities said Fuller also had a gun and marijuana in his possession at the time of his arrest.

Fuller told NBC 5 he police caught him with a gun and a small amount of marijuana, but he denied trying to cash the $360 billion check.

You can say that again! Geez like no one will question a large cheque let alone put a hold on it for 10 days, or verify it. ( the Dork.)

    Cheers

Yeah, really. The first thing I thought about was, "Hmmm...just how many zeros are in a billion?" So, he got that much right.

    But, I guess he thought:

    1. The bank HAD that much money on hand.

    2. His GF's mother's account could cover it. (And wouldn't mind sharing)

    3. And, I guess he could carry all that money home.

    D'oh

Another dumb Ft. Worth bank robber, a few years ago:

A robber walks into a bank on E. Lancaster Ave. (across the street from a Police sub-station) in August. With a ski-mask on. A pistol in his hands. It was over 100 ° outside.

He quietly took his rightful place at the end of a long line. (His mama must have taught him not to cut-line, as that is rude.)

Miraculously, the guards, customers & bank employees noticed 'something' was not quite right. They called the police, who literally ran across the street and held-up -- the hold-up artist !

That's why you always have to have a business plan.

Prison life must be a surprise everyday for these guys, ya' think ?

OK, dumb crook stories, post 'em if ya' got 'em !

Not all crooks are dumb. Some are highly intelligent and successful. Just look at the Enron scandal if you want a recent example.
