.... I believe that what is contained therein... the part that is being criticized, ergo Oprah's views.... make sense to me.

Please understand that I am not an Oprah fan - never have been - I am mostly non-polarized, ambivalent, in my opinion of the lady. But this vehicle - designed to discredit her - makes me want to see more - not of the critics point of view - but of Oprah's. I have come to believe in recent months that peace and harmony and letting God out of the Christian box we have designed for him agrees with my worldview more and more as time passes.

    Your opinions? I value them...

Certain Christians (not all) are very narrow in their view, thinking that only THEIR way of viewing things can be right and should be allowed into the conversation. As an ex-JW, this rankles me. I've seen more than enough narrow-mindedness to last a lifetime.

The video, near its end -- attacks Oprah for supporting Obama, and for supporting the idea that the American government should have a "Department of Peace". What's wrong with those things, that a Christian would fear it? The people making this video are paranoid and fearful. If they feel they have better ideas about God than Eckhart Tolle, they should stick to trying to convince people of such ideas. They look petty in this anti-Oprah campaign.

I am shocked - is my first reaction!

I never heard of this or looked into it or came across it!

Oddly it parallels with some of my natural evolution of 'feeling' during the last few incredibly depressive and soul numbing years.

The parallel is only in what I feel matters from within and can feel sure about from within = which is very little, but releases fears and all manner of concerns! But it is not easy to unpick all the luggage in ones head from a lifetime of dogma from various sources and parenting.

Essentially I have reservations due previous disasters with 'global' models for spirituality:

Firstly it is born out of Christian fundamentalism! This in itself does not render it void!

In fact, maybe it could be born out of Muslim values or Hindu or Buddhist etc etc - and that to me would be something I would want to explore in seeing how universal this spirituality is! Culturally specific new light may contain inherent inequalities.

Something about it strikes a chord in how it deals with the inner selfs sorta American Indianisms - natural synchronisations with nature and life!

I find it most intriguing and something to explore.

It seems a worthwhile focus in self synchronisation ergo self enlightenment about what one may feel or not feel about what one is to oneself and nature!

I had a similar experience on looking at Wicca = most enlightening and valuable in ways I'm noy yet sure about since I just dipped in for the first time in DEC07.

I will look further at this - interesting stuff.

What does she put forth as holistic humanitarianism?

    Anyone heard her?
