But I would just point out that this ain't no tsunami. This wave is wind-driven. Tsunamis are very distinctive in appearance.

It's no tsunami, and what you're watching is actually known as "tow-surfing." Big wave surfers from around the world follow the storms and seek off-shore reefs that can develop monstrous waves. It is incredible how much surfing has advanced over the last few decades; in the 80s, this would have been thought of as impossible.

You said it, 144001. When I watched it, I thought back to the surfing videos we watched in high school in the '80s, and wondered what would the expression be like on my surfer classmates' faces if they saw a tape like this.
