Gee, how many JW's would take this question?

I think they would all get it wrong. The Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger is in the wrong when they teach something that is in error. That, all by itself, is a correctable problem until they start banning criticism and make everyone else believe it even if they can prove it wrong. At that point, it is no longer a mistake. It becomes stubborn insistence in carrying on a lie.

It looks like 2 JW's already tried -- the first one was real lame.
The answer from CONUNDRUM:
disfellowshipped for disagreeing with current "light?".. never happens. People usually leave the Organization if they dont like what they read or hear..Their Loss.Plain & Simple.
Everything about the above answer is a lie. People DO get disfellowshipped for questioning the organization, or even for disagreeing with its procedures. ALso, you cannot simply leave -- you're always hassled by elders and you tend to lose all your friends and family. It's not "simple". Ultimately though, it's not even "their loss". It's a "gain" for them when they get out of that mind-controlling pseudo-religion.
The answer from ANDRE:
A person can only be disfellowshipped for an action that is clearly against the teaching of Christ, such as works mentioned in Gal 4;19:
"Now the works of the flesh are manifest, and they are fornication, uncleanness, loose conduct, idolatry, practise of spiritism, enmities, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, contentions, divisions, sects, envies, drunken bouts, revelries, and things like these. As to these things I am forewarning you, the same way as I did forewarn you, that those who practise such things will not inherit God’s kingdom".It is not guesswork on the part of the committee involved in the dissfellowshiping since the basis is clearly defined in the scriptures.
Additionally the person would have to displain an unrepentant attitude.
As well as having the option to having his case reviewed by an independent board. The above answer is better, but still misleading. A person can be DF'd for lots of things that aren't mentioned in Galatians 4:19. Basically, if you tick off the elders, you'll be canned.
A lot of times, it IS guesswork by the judicial committee. They have to pretend to be able to read a person's heart, to be able to see if they are "displain" (SIC) an unrepentant attitude.
Finally, the appeal process is a joke most of the time. It's just to cover the WT Society and the elder's butts. The "independent board" isn't that independent. It's a committee of the 3 elders who originally disfellowshipped a person plus 3 elders from a neighboring congregation. Usually those latter 3 elders don't want to make the first 3 elders look bad. The only time a DF'ing is overturned is when the latter 3 elders DO want to make the original committee look bad.

The Watchtower Societies tone of self importance is pretty evident. If you don't like our truth, the way we present it, you cannot be one of us.
Why Witnesses are so afraid of leaving is beyond me. There is plenty of "truth" out there for everyone. These peole remind me of Holocaust deniers. Nope never happened. So far from the real truth. Honesty too.

I was told by a C.O. that if you disagree with the Society and they change to agree with you.... You were still WRONG!

Wow 5th.... that is INSANE!!!
if that isn't the most arrogant thing I have ever heard, it would certainly be the most illogical.
It is amazing how mindless one can become after a good ol fashioned brain washin'!
